Stormtroopers Heavy Blaster - the real thing

This was quite a while in the making, and it kept changing all the time as I learned new skills. It's been about 1 year, working on and off this thing and switching over to other projects frequently.
I started with the "plasma core" in the center, without actually knowing what I would be building. I only investigated interesting shapes and ended up with this dodecahedron, which is a nightmare to print. The frame for it is printed, then acrylic screens set into it, LEDs added etc.
At this point I started leaning towards some sort of Star Wars style design - hence black and white theme. Apart from that, SW is pretty open for all types of blaster weapons, from crossbows to existing weapons (sterling submachine gun, C96 etc), right through to modified vacuum cleaners (Rogue One) and other weird stuff.
All designed in Fusion, printed (FDM) and painted by me. Frame is a compound of aluminium and 3d printed parts. The light effects are LEDs controlled by 2 Arduino Nano microprocessor boards. A video to show properly show those effects will be following.

Some more progress. The core is now married to the case. Soon I can connect the electronics and then it's pretty much done.
