Klingon Mek'leth - Star Trek Discovery

Watching ST Discovery, I wasn't too impressed by the "new" Klingons and most of their gear. Way over the top and too ornate for a warrior race. They don't want pretty, they want function. (This is of, course, just my personal opinion)
But I really loved some of their blades. This Mek'leth is inspired by T'Kuvma's blade. However, I altered the hilt, because the original one would likely hurt the wielder - unless he/she is Klingon, of course.

The whole thing is made from MDF. The blade is sandwiched from 3 parts, the resulting spaces roughly sculpted with builders bog.
The was made similar, but from 5 parts.
All parts took a considerable amount of grinding, sanding, filling and painting.
The grip plates were sculpted in place with epoxy putty, then cleaned up and painted before being re-attached to the hilt.
